Given MacAlroy’s close friendship with Jack MacConnell (our First Minister) it is understandable that the police, the prosecution service and the faculty of advocates would all have been under immense pressure to get a result.

Two months after the murder the police had got nowhere. They then decided to arrest me. The corrupt police forced a number of people to give witness statements that are full of blatant lies. The corrupt police also illegally withheld numerous genuine witness statements and also illegally withheld the footage from 43 police cctv cameras.

The corrupt procurator fiscal also assisted the police by helping them to illegally withhold evidence. The fiscal also abused the legal process by hitting me with eleven, section 67 notices of extra evidence. Each section 67 was served on me only days before every trial date yet the PF refused to give the defence copies of the statements from the witnesses on the 67’s. Those tactics forced me to ask for extensions to my own remand period. After being locked up and suffering the brutal torture of such blatant corruption for 693 days I finally gave up and went into the trial without the crucial cctv evidence. 693 days on remand on a capital murder charge in a country whose law stated that (at that time) an accused person on remand must be placed on trial within 110 days.

One false witness – Charles Bowman (a security guard on a building site) was forced by the corrupt police to claim that he had looked out of the cabin window and saw a white car. Yet his boss (the site agent) claims that it is impossible to see out of that window.

Another false witness – Tracy Macalroy (the victims widow) was persuaded by corrupt police to give false evidence in order to help convict “the guilty man”! She gave numerous statements that got progressively ridiculous and progressively damning. Her solicitor – Joe Shields – was heard to say (before my trial) “She (Tracy MacAlroy) will pick Gage out in court no matter what he looks like”. And she duly did just that. The gunman’s face was masked with only his eyes on view and she said that she recognised my eyes! Her husband had been shot at 10pm, it was dark outside, he was shot in the neighbours driveway and the gunman apparently ran down the street – a full driveway length away from her house yet she had the audacity to claim to have looked out and recognised and memorised the gunman’s eyes despite the fact that she claimed to have “only caught a glimpse of the gunman’s back” or “only caught a glimpse of his side” or “got a good look at his eyes from the front”. She managed all of that from “the bathroom window upstairs” or “the bedroom window upstairs” or “the small glass panels in the top of the front door” or “from outside the front door after opening it”. It all depends on which one of her six different statements you decide to use.

Another false witness – Steven Madden was forced by corrupt police to say that he drove past and saw a white car. He also gives numerous statements that get progressively ridiculous and progressively damning. In one statement he claims to have been in his car on a main road outside a restaurant. Many cars drive past and one of them is white. He has never seen the car before in his life and has no reason whatsoever to even look at it yet he claims to not only have looked at it as it drove past in the dark at 9.30pm but he also for no apparent reason decided to notice and memorise a tiny (one inch) speck of rust on the wheel arch and another small speck of rust on the door of the white car! He then later drives past the scene of the shooting – which is in the completely opposite direction of his way home – and he once again sees the white car!

Another false witness – Agnes Edgar claimed to have been in the car with Steven Madden when he saw all of this.

My previous solicitor – John Macauley – spoke to the senior investigating police officer on my case in an effort to get access to the hidden statements and also get access to the footage from the 43 police cctv cameras. The senior investigating officer illegally refused to give us the evidence however he was prepared to answer specific questions and amazingly admitted that the 43 cameras did not pick up the white car anywhere near that night and also that the two cameras that covered the main road outside the restaurant showed that not only was the white car not there but Madden and Edgar and their car were also not there! more.....
